Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund

Standard

NEWS UPDATE:  Due to the Wounded Warrior Project’s refusal to accept funds from an apparel auction the charity receiving the funds from the auction has officially changed.  The new charity benefitting will be: the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund http://www.fallenheroesfund.org/.  This is one of the highest rated charities benefitting wounded soldiers, due to their low administrative costs.  It is an amazing charity that deserves a tremendous amount of support.

IMPORTANT UPDATE

Standard

I have been notified that I will not be able to donate the money raised from the auction for the Wounded Warrior Project. The Wounded Warrior Project organization has an exclusivity contract with Under Armour and WILL NOT accept the proceeds from an apparel auction.  Though I am very disappointed at this, the auction will go on, and the money will benefit the wounded veterans.  Thank you for your continued support and belief. Below is the email that I received from the Wounded Warrior Project:

Hi Brighid,

Thank you for your support of WWP! We really appreciate you using your birthday as a way to support us. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept money from percentage of apparel sales or raffles. The registration process helps us decipher if fundraisers are within our policies, however, even if registered, we would be unable to align with your specific endeavor because of exclusivity we have with another partner. An option would be to say you are raising funds for Veteran’s organization or for injured servicemen and women without specifying our name as this opens us up to some legal liabilities. I apologize for the disappointment but we’d love to work with you in some other way! Please visit the Give Back section of our website for ideas.

Thank you!,

Jessie

Welcome!

I just wanted to start by saying thank you for taking the time to visit this blog.

This year I turn 27 years old. As I grow older I am continually reminded of how blessed my life is. With that being said for my 27th birthday, I want ONE thing, and that is to give back.

The idea of 27 jerseys is fairly simple. My goal is to collect 27 autographed jerseys (or tshirts), from any sport, and auction them off online. The proceeds of the auction will all go directly to a charity. The auction will be seven days. It will start on July 15th and end of July 22nd (my birthday).

Please continue to check back here for updates on who has donated and where I stand with the project. Any thoughts, help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

For the address to send the autographed jerseys, shirts, etc. please check the about page.
